Meet Ed

Ed and Karen Cox live in west Arvada where they enjoy raising their three small children and staying involved with their local community.

Before returning to Colorado with his wife Karen, who's an Arvada native, Ed spent a significant portion of his career as a Senior Policy Advisor in the United States Senate. This experience gave him in-depth knowledge of political and legislative processes, instilling in him a deep appreciation for bipartisanship and collaboration. Should Ed be elected, he will use this experience to drive a pragmatic legislative agenda that benefits his constituents.

Several years ago Ed and Karen moved back home to Colorado seeking to return to a community rooted in western values to raise their children. After resettling in Colorado Ed opened a small family business in Arvada and has enjoyed working and growing in our community.

Many of the difficulties of the last few years uniquely impacted our community small businesses and mom-and-pop shops, which have always served as a cornerstone of our local economy. As an advocate for locally owned and operated business Ed will always champion policies that enable Coloradans to pursue their own endeavors.

As a father of young children Ed is also passionate about supporting our state’s education system to provide it with the tools needed to foster an environment for growth and learning that prepares our children to succeed in adulthood. In addition to providing an environment for learning Ed is passionate about school safety and ensuring that local governments, communities and schools have the necessary resources to protect our children.

Ed holds a B.S. in Economics from the University of Utah. He's an outdoor enthusiast who enjoys hiking, camping, and cheering on the Denver Broncos. Growing up in Southern Utah, Ed worked as a small-engine mechanic at his family's shop, fostering his lifelong love for small community oriented businesses and his pride in advocating for them.
